Artromick Introduces NX10 Mobile Computing WorkStation

Latest Mobile Computing Platform 20 Percent Lighter for Improved Maneuverability; 90 Percent Efficient Power System Delivers Extended Run Times

COLUMBUS, OHIO—August 1, 2007—Artromick, a leading developer of medication management and healthcare technology solutions for the long-term and acute care markets, today announced the general availability of the NX10 Mobile Computing WorkStation. Artromick’s new point-of-care computing cart delivers a flexible, light weight, and cost effective solution for bedside data management that greatly benefits nurses, information technology staff and administrators.

“The best clinical data management application is ineffective if it is not easily accessible at the point-of-care,” said Artromick CEO J.M. Romick. “With more than 35 years experience developing medical carts, Artromick understands what our mobile computing customers need. Our new NX10 WorkStation delivers high-performance processing, a robust power system and ease of use for nursing and IT staff alike.”

The NX10 WorkStation is lightweight—more than 20 percent lighter than the previous product releases—with a stable and trim-line footprint making it easy for nursing staff to maneuver through the most crowded corridors and patient rooms. With an ample 15.5” x 21” work area, configurable secure storage area, and a variety of accessories including scanner holders, cup holders, mouse trays, IV poles and more, the NX10 WorkStation can be easily customized even once implemented in the facility.

The NX10 WorkStation supports laptop, all-in-one PC, or thin-client solutions and is designed to provide IT staff with easy access to internal cable routing and peripherals.  With a high resolution 17” monitor, it can accommodate a variety of laptop models from leading manufacturers including Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Panasonic and Toshiba. All-in-one PC solutions are powerful, durable and support the latest point-of-care workflow solutions available today.

  • When configured for thin-client operation, the NX10 WorkStation can support a variety of brands including Neoware and WYSE.

Smart Power Management Means Smart Saving

“Long battery life and sufficient power output are central to an effective mobile computing solution. Hospital staff need to access point-of-care solutions where and when they need them. Carts that constantly need to be charged are more trouble than they are worth,” said Artromick Vice President of Product Development Tim Friar. “The NX10 WorkStation delivers a dependable, efficient power system that our customers can rely on without worrying whether they have enough power to complete a task or finish the shift.”

Artromick has made innovative breakthroughs in power management, improving the battery usage efficiency of the NX10 WorkStation. Today, the NX10 Workstation delivers better than 90 percent efficiency resulting in a nine percent run time increase. In addition, the NX10 WorkStation offers 91 percent battery recharge efficiency for shorter recharge times.
